Wembley 2000

In retaining the title, Kingstonian overcame some tight games to reach the last Trophy Final to be played at the 'old' Wembley Stadium. An entertaining game against Kettering Town saw emotional highs and lows for both sides as the game swung both ways. The deciding goal eventually fell to French forward Amara Simba, following a fine run by man of the match Tarkan Mustafa. Geoff Chapple's FA Trophy record now stands at 5 titles in the last 7 seasons, and Kingstonian's last defeat in the competition was at Crawley Town in the Autumn of 1997.
